Tatas opt to say tata to Singur

Today finally Ratan Tata took a very business decision. He opted to opt out of Singur in West Bengal which was site for Nano. It is quite some time the plant came under attack from Trinimul Congress leader Mamata Banerjee and her cadres for reasons which don’t seem to be social.

This plant would have offered living for about 10,000 people in the area. Albeit farmers were losing their farms, the compensation along with employment and business boom in the area due to industrialisation would have definitely helped in long run to the society and state. This particular episode would force other corporates to not even think on going to West Bengal for any future ventures. How long the state would survive without classic industrialisation?

Mamata has played spoil sport here as usual. I don’t understand how can she be leader when she is constantly leading her cadres on wrong path. The political system in West Bengal in particular and other states like Kerala, Maharashtra etc. need to get rid of vested interest of politicians to only look at their shares rather than development of society at large.
